The Third Eye | Elmbridge Museum | October 2016 – January 2017

Photography, radio and television all play an important role in modern life. Elmbridge Museum’s latest display at Esher’s Civic Centre highlights objects that chart communication technologies.

‘The Third Eye’ was a phrase used in the 1920s to describe some human-like characteristics of television – a new technology at the time – that some families and businesses were inviting into their lives. From stereoscopes to VCRs, ‘The Third Eye’ depicts snapshots in technological advancement.
